The corridor of Cañuelas, Juan Carlos Nesprias, is hospitalized in the Monte Grande Clinic, afflicted with a severe respiratory condition from which he is slowly recovering.
Nesprias, 72 years old, he was admitted on December 3 as a result of sinusitis that was aggravated by the presence of fluid in the lungs. A week after his hospitalization, she is already in a common room, at times breathing on her own.
The mechanic Martin Velozo, one of those who is watching over the health of the former TC pilot, spoke with InfoCañuelas this Saturday. “I just got out of the sanatorium, fortunately it is improving day by day. He was hospitalized a week ago. He had a clogged airway due to sinusitis that was complicated by a lung and heart problem. Today they began to remove the respirator to measure oxygen saturation. If all goes well, next week they will discharge him.”
Velozo reported that he is already in good spirits and that yesterday the match between Argentina and the Netherlands could. “The Saturday that he was hospitalized, it was complicated, so we could see the game against Australia on a cell phone. On the other hand, Velozo highlighted the excellent medical care received by Nesprías at the Monte Grande Clinic, especially from the clinician Victor Pecci. And he told the surprising anecdote that unites the doctor with the runner from Cañuelas.
“At one point Juan Carlos was about to be transferred because he was not evolving, until a doctor from the sanatorium, Dr. Víctor Pecci, saw his name and realized who he was. It turns out that the doctor’s father was a runner for TC Roquerense at the same time that Juan Carlos ran, and on one occasion When he was 8 years old, Juan Carlos took him for a ride in his coffee pot and gave him a helmet. The doctor never forgot about that.”.
Currently Pecci also participates in a zonal category (in Amigos Fiat 1.4). This Saturday, for example, he had competition and on several occasions while on the circuit he sent a WhatsApp message to those close to Nesprías to update them on his state of health.
Juan Carlos Nesprías was born on August 16, 1950. From a very young age he showed his vocation for irons, making his own toy cars. At 18 he opened a mechanical workshop and after a period in the Limited 27 category, in 1978 he joined TC Roqueperense. During the five years that he competed in that category, he always occupied the top positions.
On February 10, 1985, he debuted in Turismo Carretera at the Buenos Aires Autodromo with a first place among debutants. On December 7, 1986, in La Pampa, he set the speed record, still valid: 257 average and 306 final speed.
He retired in the 94/95 season. Almost three decades after his retirement from the tracks, “the big man” from Cañuelas continues to be remembered and respected in the world of motorsports.
