The IMF forecasts a growth rate of 3% in Morocco in 2023

According to a report on “Prospects for the world economy” published on Tuesday, on the occasion of the spring meeting of the IMF and the World Bank which is being held in Washington, the Bretton Woods institution forecasts a growth rate 3% for the Moroccan economy in 2023. At the global level, growth should stand at 2.8% this year before increasing slightly to reach 3% in 2024, according to the same source.

In addition, it is pointed out, the unemployment rate will drop from 12.9% in 2022 to 11% this year before recording a further decline to 10.5% in 2024.

In the same direction, it is specified, inflation should reach 4.6% this year before falling to 2.8% in 2024. On a global scale, inflation will decline, although more slowly than expected. initially, from 8.7% in 2022 to 7% this year and 4.9% in 2024.

In addition, Morocco’s current account balance is expected to drop from -4.3% in 2022 to -3.7% in 2023 and then to -3.5% in 2024, it is pointed out.
