The Ministry of Defense confirmed that the garrisoned troops fired again: 3 drones harassed live ammunition and drove away

On August 31st, drones from mainland China appeared again on the outer islands of Kinmen. The Kinmen Defense Command of the Army stated on August 31st that from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., civilian drones were found in the Dandan, Caoyu and Lieyu areas respectively. 3 sorties were made. After the defenders fired away and the signal bombs passed the approaching garrison troops, they quickly flew away and entered Xiamen. The Golden Defense Department will continue to maintain vigilance and close monitoring.

The Ministry of Defense pointed out that from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on August 31, the defenders found 3 batches and 3 sorties of civilian drones in Dadan, Caoyu and Lieyu areas respectively. After garrisoning the troops, the drone flew towards Xiamen, and the Ministry of Defense will continue to maintain vigilance and close monitoring.

President Tsai Ing-wen said on August 30 that the national army should take strong measures to counter the CCP’s drones in due course. She emphasized that the more provocative the enemy army is, the more calm it is. The national army restrains itself, but it does not mean that the national army will not take countermeasures. She has ordered the Ministry of National Defense to take necessary and strong countermeasures in a timely manner to safeguard national airspace security.

In response to the recent frequent dispatch of drones by mainland China to disturb Taiwan, Tsai Ing-wen instructed to take strong countermeasures. The White House responded that such actions are in line with mainland China’s recent attempt to establish a new normal by escalating the situation, and the United States will not accept it. In view of the CCP’s unnecessary military aggression, arbitrary and coercive actions around the Taiwan Strait, it is reasonable for Taiwan’s leaders to express concern.
