In his native America, a film about a bouncer who tries to restore order in a bar received a mixed reception. On the one hand, the action movie paid off at the box office, on the other hand, it collected several nominations for the Golden Raspberry anti-award. As a result, this work of Patrick was recognized as one of the weakest.
But in Russia, “Road House” came in handy. Inexperienced with action movies and on-screen fights, the audience immediately built the film into a cult, and Swayze was made a national idol. Ridiculous plot, weak acting and “childish” special effects went unnoticed. However, many recognize all the disadvantages of “Road House”, but do not stop revising it, because these absurdities have a special charm.
