Energy prices are increasingly affecting Belgians, that’s a fact. And it is a reality that energy suppliers are seeing. At Electrabel, which represents 42% of the Belgian market, “10% of our customers have difficulties”, reveals the spokesperson for the Belgian incumbent operator, Olivier Desclée. Electrabel has 2.4 million residential customers.
These figures give an idea of the scale of the problem. At Luminus, we do not want to communicate on the figures but the spokesperson reveals to us that the number of payment plans has doubled compared to last year. At Eneco, we are talking about one in three customers encountering payment problems.
