The president of the National Network of Women Peace Mediators of Gabon (RENAFEM-GA), Elisabeth Ngoua Mbina, also a member of the Network of Women Peace Mediators of ECCAS (REFEMAC), in a statement congratulated “the diplomatic commitment , the pragmatism and dynamism of the President of the Transition, President of the Republic, Head of State, His Excellency Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema” and the advocacy of the Network of Women Peace Mediators of ECCAS (REFEMAC) having allowed the lifting of sanctions on Gabon by the ECCAS.

“Our congratulations also go to the Network of Women Mediators of Central Africa (REFEMAC) which supported, with the Gabonese Mediators, the plea for the lifting of these sanctions, during the joint meeting of the Committee of Wise Men and REFEMAC , held in Malabo from November 17 to 19, 2023 »welcomed Ms. Ngoua Mbina.

Gabon was suspended on September 4, 2023, the day after the coup d’état that took place on August 30 of the same year. His reintegration into the ECCAS took place on March 9, at the end of the 24e ordinary session of Heads of State and government of the sub-regional institution held in Malabo in Equatorial Guinea.

For RENAFEM-GA, “we cannot close our remarks without paying a vibrant tribute to all the brave women for the work done over all these years, in general and since September 2, 2023, for the success of the transition process, in particular Ms. Pépécy OGOULIGUENDEPresident of the Committee of Wise Men of RENAFEM-GA, which advocates for the inclusion of women in matters of peace and security, through the implementation of Resolution 1325.”
