The Medicines Agency (ANSM) announced Tuesday, April 11 the suspension of several products, hitherto presented as natural products “detox» promoting weight loss. In question: many adverse effects reported by twenty people. The products in question are Trex Tea (powder), Trex Caps (capsules), Trex Plus (effervescent form).
Several people who have used it have reported “side effects» serious such as heart rhythm disordershypertension, tachycardia, palpitations, chest pain, sleep disturbances, dizziness, anorexia, headaches, epileptic seizures, ANSM said in a statement, adding that other European states have reported similar alerts.

Drug substances withdrawn from the market
According to the ANSM, analyzes have revealed the presence, in these products, of two medicinal substances: sibutramine, a treatment against obesity, whose marketing authorization has been suspended, and sildenafil (Viagra and generics), a drug indicated in case of erectile dysfunction which can lead to potentially serious adverse effects.
These products are sold on the internet via reseller sites and social networks, but also in physical stores or on market stalls. The ANSM recommends that people who have purchased these products “not to use them anymore“. In the event of an adverse effect, she advises them to contact the Samu or a poison control centre.
