According to a press release, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy Ben Harris will visit Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Poland from January 8 to 13, where he will meet with local officials.
In her turn, Elisabeth Rosenberg, Assistant Head of the Ministry of Finance for Combating the Financing of Terrorism and Financial Crimes, will be in Brussels from January 8-10 to meet her colleagues from the European Union.
As part of their trips, Harris and Rosenberg plan to discuss “coordination with allies on sanctions against Russia,” “ongoing efforts to deny” Moscow the income it needs to fund the special military operation in Ukraine, as well as “add steps to further disrupt Russia’s military supply chains.” .
In addition, Harris and Rosenberg plan to discuss the policy of reducing prices for Russian energy resources with their European colleagues.
