Al-Marsad Newspaper: The American singer Madonna, 64, commented on the criticism she was subjected to after the spread of pictures of her in which she appeared in different features, as she enlarged her cheeks, her skin was clearly taut, and with very thin eyebrows, which surprised some, while attending a distribution ceremony. Grammy Awards.
And according to “Sky News”, in response to the comments, Madonna posted a picture of her on “Twitter”, and commented, “The world is threatened by my strength and stamina, my intelligence and my will to survive. But they will never break me.”
She also posted a video via Instagram, including excerpts from the concert, accompanied by some artists, and commented, saying: “The close-up, which was taken with a camera with a long lens, is what distorted her face and made it appear more round and swollen than it was in reality.”
She added, “Instead of focusing on what I said in my speech…many people chose to only talk about close-ups of me taken with a long lens camera, by a photojournalist, that would distort anyone’s face!”
She added, “Once again I am caught in the midst of the ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in, that refuses to celebrate women over 45, and feels the need to punish her if she continues to be strong-willed, hard-working and adventurous.”
Madonna ended her comment, saying, “You will not break my spirit… I look forward to many more years of disruptive behavior, pushing boundaries, standing up to patriarchy, and most of all enjoying my life.”
