“The worst epidemic wave” .. China records the highest rate of infection with the Corona virus in more than two years

Al-Marsad newspaper: China is facing the worst epidemic wave since the start of the Corona pandemic, at a time when the “highly contagious” Omicron has spread to more than 12 provinces.

And the Chinese National Health Commission said that the city of Shanghai has, in recent days, turned into an epidemiological focus, where the Omicron mutant is spreading rapidly, which began to increase in early March.

Today, Sunday, the authorities in China recorded 13,146 infections with the Corona virus, which is the highest rate since the height of the first wave more than two years ago.

Although these numbers are considered low compared to many other countries, they are high for China, where the authorities are implementing a zero-infection strategy, aimed at preventing the emergence of new infections.
