The 34-year-old’s obsession with learning details about his partner’s sexual past, as well as his extreme jealousy and manipulative behavior, unfolded at noon on Tuesday in the hall of the Three-member Misdemeanor Court of Thessaloniki.
The man was sentenced to seven months in prison, suspended for three years, after being found guilty by the court of domestic violence. The defendant admitted that on the evening of Friday, February 23, after they argued in the street, when they went up to the apartment, he attacked the 27-year-old girl who is pregnant and covered her mouth with his hands so she wouldn’t scream, while he used violence against her.
The victim described, among other things, in court, that the accused was persuasive, manipulative and did not let her have communication with other people and her parents. In fact, the accused allegedly did not let her have a mobile phone, however one night the girl sent a message to her father asking for help.
“I wanted to know how many he’s been with”
He accepted his act and stated that he regrets what he did, but before the court he admitted that he had a manipulative attitude towards the 27-year-old as “she was vulnerable and wanted someone by her side”.
“I taught her to clean tangerines, she didn’t take care of herself, had casual relationships, poor diet, drinks and nights out. That night I covered her mouth with my hands, I admit it,” he said.
The accused, after describing in detail his partner’s sexual relations before him and during the time the couple was apart, said that his girlfriend kept lying when he asked her how many people she had had sex with before him. “I realized that she was lying to me about her past and I like that my partner hasn’t been with many men because I’m old school. It’s my choice not to want it,” he said.
“I was trying to make her understand that only people do these things and she is not like that. We argued and he left for Athens. One day I decided to go find her to win her back. The first thing I told her in the surprise I did is that I don’t want to know about your past again and I want to put it behind me, but she didn’t put it behind me. She had messages on Instagram, she was talking to various people, she had photos on her cell phone, etc. I would ask her if she let people into her house and she would say no, but there were too many people who entered the house and she had cheated on me, they were all romantic partners. He told me “I gave oral to a stranger because I was afraid to say no to him”. I worried about her. I wanted to know how many men she has had sex with,” he said, among other things.
The 34-year-old claimed that the woman did not have a good relationship with her parents who live on an island and that he himself was helping her.
