The Association of Professional Bullfighting Fighters (APTL) has challenged before the Court of Contracting of the Community of Madrid, by means of a special appeal in terms of contracting, the administrative specifications that govern the contracting of the concession for the exploitation of the Las Ventas bullring, according to Cultoro. The APTL, represented by José Montes, has also challenged the competition for the Zaragoza bullring for different reasons.

The grounds for this appeal are, among others, the violation of basic principles in public contracting, such as non-discrimination and free competition, in addition to some Solvency requirements that are far from legal and the parameters of good faith, exposes the association in a statement that they have sent to the editorial office of the aforementioned medium.

The appeal includes the request for the granting of the precautionary measure suspension of the procedure to avoid damage that is impossible or very difficult to repair to potential bidders. In a few days, the Court will rule on this request.

The Las Ventas specifications were published in BOCAM on February 18.
