The Lebanese artist, Najwa Karam, topped the “Twitter” website two days ago, after the statements of Lami Hariri, the ex-wife of the late musician Melhem Barakat. Hariri said that Melhem Barakat was in a love affair with Najwa Karam, and she said with the letter “Najwa was his friend” to Melhem Barakat, but after another person entered the line, the covenant between Barakat and Karam broke down and wars began between them, until it reached the point of accusing the musician of theft and one of Najwa’s brothers turned Karam went to his house and tried to threaten the musician, then everything was settled and the water returned to normal, but there was no more rapprochement or meetings between the musician and Karam.
Singer Najwa Karam preferred silence, and her followers showed that her songs from her latest album, “Charisma”, are still surpassing the first ranks.
And the day before yesterday, reactions came, condemning Mai Hariri’s words, and some said that she did not respect the biography of a Lebanese artist and composer with his history and stature; Although she is the mother of his child, she insisted on digging up the past, at a time when followers saw that Mai Hariri did not want to portray what she mentioned as a scandal, but rather a mere narration of events in a program dealing with life and years.
It is noteworthy that Mai Hariri has been living in the British capital for years, and she visits Lebanon from time to time.
