Today they say goodbye to Niclas – before he died he wrote to his mother: – Love you, møsmøs

The 23-year-old Niclas Salge was a troubled soul, but mother was the most important thing in the world. On the night he intentionally drove himself to death near Rødding, he sent 10 videos and a final greeting on Snap to his mother. On Wednesday, he will be buried from Brørup Gamle Kirke and then laid to rest in the cemetery in Gesten.

Announcement

  • The very last picture of Niclas. He filmed himself and sent the video to his parents shortly before he killed himself near Rødding. Private photo

  • Nicla’s coffin arrived on Friday at the chapel in Brørup. Here his best friends had the opportunity to see him. It was done very respectfully, say Gisa and Torben. You young people politely asked if they could touch Niclas, and they were allowed to. The parents then put a lid on the coffin, and it will not be opened again, they say. Private photo

  • At first, the parents considered that Niclas should sleep his eternal sleep here next to his grandfather in the cemetery in Brørup. The two had a very special bond, but on further reflection, the parents have changed plans and have now reserved a burial place at Gesten Cemetery. There is space here for friends to set up things and cases in memory of Niclas, Gisa and Torben Viftrup say. It is also close to the childhood home and thus more practical for the family. Niclas and grandpa will have to settle for meeting in heaven, says Gisa. Photo: Steen Rasmussen

  • The parents have decorated Nicklas’ coffin with some of the things he loved most – speed and pace and tire tracks. Private photo

  • The home in Gesten is filled with bouquets that friends, family and others have sent to the parents of 23-year-old Niclas, who chose life last week. Photo: Steen Rasmussen
