A bunch of keys in the water, an attempt to recover them and it’s the tragedy this Sunday evening. Two men fell into the water in the Ostend canal, near the Ibis Royal Work indicates HLN. If one was able to be released quickly, this was not the case for the other.
The first, in his twenties, was taken to hospital. He is in mortal danger. The second, a 29-year-old man, is missing. Rescue, divers and a sonar boat went looking for him, in vain. The operation was halted shortly following 9 p.m.
The search will resume tomorrow.
