It was on the R3, in the direction of Heppignies towards Gouy-lez-Piéton, near the Trazegnies car park that an accident took place on October 28 around 7:30 a.m.
In this accident, speed was not a factor: a semi-trailer would have had a hydraulic problem, its brakes would have blocked. The truck was therefore stopped on the traffic lane. The collision occurred before the driver could get out to signal the stop using his triangle. The driver of the van, thinking that the truck was driving slowly, let the car passing her pass before moving away. Unfortunately, it was too late and the van violently slammed into the rear of the semi-trailer.

The Marcinelle firefighters went to the scene and extricated the driver and marked out the area. SMUR and ambulance also went to the scene. The driver was taken to hospital. The two dogs present in the vehicle unfortunately did not survive the accident.
