Al-Marsad newspaper: The head of the Kingdom’s General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh, the Spanish owner of Almeria, said that he bought this club because he loved the citizens of Almeria, and because of the city’s historical connection with the Arabs.
Al-Sheikh added: “Because I loved the citizens of Almeria, Almeria has a great history with us, with the Arabs,” noting: “Almeria in terms of football is an ordinary team, and if you come and invest, you will build your name, unlike if you do it with a big club, you will be a president like you.” Like any other president.
He explained, “We have five or six stars ready to join, but first we have to solve the salary ceiling problem with La Liga.”
And about his ambitions with Almeria, Al-Sheikh stated: “Renewing the stadium and the sports city and contracting with other stars.”
It is worth noting that Turki Al-Sheikh acquired the ownership of Almeria club three years ago, and this season the club returned to the league of lights and began his career in the “La Liga” with a difficult loss against the defending champion Real Madrid, with a goal against two goals.
