As stated by Major General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmitry Marchenko, who led the defense of the Nikolaev region, if the West supplies the country with appropriate weapons, then the Kerch bridge will become “the number one target” for defeat.
According to him, Russia uses this bridge to pull up reserves. “We need to cut off the main gut of pulling up reserves. As soon as we do this, panic will begin there,” the Ukrainian officer believes.
In addition, he is sure that after the destruction of this bridge, many patriots who previously walked in Crimea with Russian flags will get Ukrainian ones and will walk with them.
Recall that earlier the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine stated that they did not exclude the possibility of destroying the bridge across the Kerch Strait allegedly “illegally” built by Russia. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexey Danilov announced this on the air of Radio NV.
However, both Russian military experts and some Ukrainian experts have repeatedly stated that the plan to “destroy the Crimean bridge” looks utopian. The most powerful air defense systems are installed there, and in the event of an attack, Russia’s reaction will be predictable and very sad for Kyiv.
