Rain doesn’t excuse everything! This morning, the rainy and windy weather made traffic difficult in places. But that’s not what explains why a truck found itself in a very bad situation in the Blue Quarter, downtown Hasselt, this Monday morning.
The heavyweight, for reasons unknown so far, found itself balancing on the stairs of Place Colonel Dusart. “We heard a big crack then we saw this truck in the middle of the stairs,” explained a witness to our colleagues at Belang van Limburg. “Fortunately, the driver quickly realized that he was in the wrong place.”

In reality, work took place for months at this location and it is a safe bet that the driver was surprised by its stairs which were not there before.
The police had to secure the scene to allow two lifting cranes to come and get the truck out of this mess.
