Because of crew timeout, the airline could not depart immediately. “The flight was delayed overnight due to crew timeout, and departed for Newark this morning,” United Airlines said in a Sunday afternoon statement.

The Boeing 737 finally pushed back from its gate just after 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, October 25, 2026.

Flight data shows that Flight 1681 eventually touched down at Newark Liberty International Airport at 3:06 p.m. EDT on Sunday.
