The exact amount of the crime was not publicly specified, but it was clarified that Bolt has been in the financial institution for more than a decade. As revealed by the Jamaican media, the main target for the disappearance of these millions is a former employee of the company, who would be an accomplice in a massive fraud against the firm.

“Appropriate steps have been taken to get to the bottom of the matter,” said Usain Bolt’s representative. And he added: “The Division of Financial Investigations and the Financial Services Commission are among the entities that have been informed.”

Bolt’s businesses and investments after his retirement from professional athletics include positions as director of speed for Digicel, the largest communications company in the Caribbean, or his role as a minority shareholder in Tracks and Records, a restaurant located in Sherwood Content. He is also the owner of Champion Shave, his brand of razors, a shareholder in Enertor (sports insoles) and founder of Bolt Mobility, a producer of bicycles and motorcycle scooters that are distributed throughout the United States and some European countries.
