Fatal wingsuit accident in Les Diablerets

A 36-year-old Swiss lost his life late Saturday morning in a wingsuit accident in the Diablerets region (VD). For some undetermined reason, he crashed into a rock face.
The man, domiciled in Valais, had rushed from the summit of Scex Rouge, above Les Diablerets, indicates the Vaudois police. He was dressed in a wingsuit. Rescuers dispatched to the scene found him dead.
A call for witnesses is launched within the framework of the investigation opened by the public prosecutor. The accident required the intervention of gendarmes from the mountain peloton, five rescuers from Secours alpin romand and a Rega helicopter.
