“She thought that she had a disabled child and they wouldn’t put her in jail, but why the hell wouldn’t they put her in jail?” Adopted son of an arrested activist from Buryatia refused to be released to her for trial

Human rights activist Nadezhda Nizovkina posted an audio recording on YouTube that she claims was made by 16-year-old Vladimir Alalykin, the adopted son of her friend, Buryat activist Natalia Filonova, who is under arrest in connection with an “attack” on police officers.

Filonova participated in anti-mobilization rallies in the fall of 2022. A criminal case was opened against the activist for “attacking” policemen. According to investigators, after being detained at one of the rallies, she allegedly hit one of the policemen with a ballpoint pen, and the second with her hand. Now Filonova is under arrest, and her adopted son was taken away from relatives and sent to an orphanage.

The recording, published by Nizovkina, allegedly included a conversation between a teenager and the director of the orphanage where he is now. Alalykin asks to let him go to Filonova’s trial, but is refused.

“Your Nizovkina does not catch up with the fact that you are the core. Why the hell is she telling you all this and leading you to a stressful situation. You are being used in black. Before taking any action, she [Филонова] must understand that it will bring harm first of all to you, and not to yourself. She thought that she had a disabled child and they wouldn’t put her in prison, but why the hell would they not? – says Alalykin’s interlocutor.

Publication “People of Baikal” contacted with Oleg Tsyrempilov, director of the Zvezdny center, where Alalykin is now located. He said that the teenager did not ask him to go to court.
