Al-Marsad Newspaper: A video circulating documented the moment a border police helicopter crashed while flying to help a glider.
For his part, Georgian Interior Minister Vakhtang Gumeluri said on Friday that eight people were killed in the crash of a rescue helicopter near the Georgian resort of Gudauri.
The Ministry of the Interior revealed that the foreign tourist who was rescued by the helicopter was killed. The Georgian citizen who had flown with him by parachute survived while he was in hospital.
Gummilori confirmed that control of the helicopter was lost, as shown in a video clip.
“We don’t know the cause of the crash, whether it was an error, a technical failure or because of the wind, the examination will show that,” Gummilori added.
