  • On Tuesday it will be hot again.

  • This is followed by a drop in temperature from Wednesday.

  • A lot of rain is also to be expected.

While there are already widespread warm temperatures with pleasant, sunny conditions today, we can even expect another hot day on Tuesday: Geneva and Valais can reach 30 degrees and more. In the lowlands and the Alpine valleys, the thermometer rises to 25 to 28 degrees.

This is followed by a real drop in temperature from Wednesday, like Roger Perret from Meteonews stressed. The thermometer in the east hardly rises above 15 degrees at the weekend, and there is a lot of rain, especially on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. “Particularly heavy precipitation can be expected along the Alps,” says Perret.

Arosa could be sweetened

Perret speaks of an initial north or north-west location in September, which ensures the fairly cool temperatures. The snow line drops to 1500 to 1800 meters. Occasional snowfalls can occur at higher altitudes. “In Davos, there is probably not enough snow, but Arosa could be a bit sweeter,” says Perret. Caution is also required on the passes. The drop in temperature can lead to difficult road conditions there.

However, one cannot yet speak of the onset of winter, since there is largely no moisture for snowfall. According to Perret, the cool temperatures for September are nothing unusual. In the lowlands, a mix of sun and clouds with cool temperatures awaits us at the weekend.
