Weather Forecast: Rain, Clouds & Cold Fronts – Weekend and Week Ahead Updates

2023-10-12 18:00:00

The sky will be divided between sometimes beautiful clearings over the south-eastern half and lots of clouds giving some rain in the afternoon over the north-western half of the country.

This very rainy cold front will activate in the evening and during the night with precipitation in all regions of between 10 and 40 L/M².

SATURDAY :

In the morning it will rain again in the east and south of the Ardennes while the sky will clear elsewhere under a wind which will have veered further to the northwest with still peaks of 35-55 km/h.

The drop in temperatures will be felt with barely 10 to 15° in the middle of the day and 6 to 12° during the evening.

This air of polar origin will circulate between an anticyclone arriving off the west of Ireland and the deep storm depression evolving over northern Scandinavia.

At night the wind will tend to weaken, especially in the south of the country and with the presence of large clearings this will favor minimum

2 and 4° in the Ardennes with even locally small frosts between 0 and -3° in the valleys. Elsewhere temperatures will be around 4 to 8° in the interior of the country and 8 to 10° along the sea.

Sunday :

The polar air current coming to us from the North Sea will be humid and unstable enough to cause some light showers in Limburg and the north of the province of Liège.

In other regions the sky will be variable with sometimes even large clearings towards the sea and to the south of the Ardennes relief.

It will be really very cool with temperatures no longer exceeding 12 to 13° in Flanders and western Hainaut and 6 to 7° in the eastern highlands.

At night the sky will remain cloudy along the seaside but will clear completely elsewhere, although with numerous fog formations.

It will be a very cold night with white frosts in many places and even frosts under shelter in the Ardennes.

Note minimums between 0 and -5° in most of the Ardennes valleys, between 0 and +5° in the other regions of the interior of the country and between 5 and 8° on the coast.

Monday :

As the anticyclonic zone will extend from the British Isles towards Hungary via Germany, the wind will have veered towards the north-east to the east and will bring us dry continental air with, however, some high-altitude clouds.

After the stratus and fog dissipate, the weather will be dry but quite cold with daytime temperatures remaining stuck between 7 and 14° depending on the region.

Mardi :

The weather will not change much with still locally small morning frosts in the east and maximums between 8 and 15°.

The sky will still be shrouded in high-altitude clouds but it will be dry.

Developments for the rest of next week and the following weekend:

With a new depression arriving from Spain over France and an anticyclonic zone extending from Scandinavia to Europe, we should remain dependent on dry and cool continental currents.

The minimums will generally display 3 to 9° in the plains but +3 to -2° in the regions located south of the Sambre and Meuse furrow.
