Un salary to live and not to survive. The president of the Michelin group believes that the minimum wage is insufficient to live with dignity. In the columns of Parisian, Florent Menegaux ensures that none of the tire group’s employees are paid the minimum wage, and that a “decent” salary has been put in place. This remuneration was calculated so that Michelin’s 132,000 employees could “live properly on their salary”.

A decent salary depending on where you live
At the tire giant, salary partly depends on where you live. “We consider, for example, that the decent wage is twice the minimum wage in Paris, and more than 20% of the minimum wage in Clermont-Ferrand, at Michelin headquarters,” indicates Florent Menegaux.
