why a collective wants to put an end to this guilt-inducing expression

Replace the term miscarriage with that of “natural termination of pregnancy”. In a column published in The world Sunday March 27, the members of the collective “Miscarriage, true experience” denounce the omerta around “natural pregnancy terminations” in France.

A pregnancy out of four ends in the first trimester, “when you shouldn’t talk about your pregnancy”. “Each year, 200,000 French women go through this ordeal”, can we read in the tribune.

The collective – whose founders are Judith Aquien, Fanny de Font-Réaulx, Mathilde Lemiesle, Sandra Lorenzo, Anna N’Diaye and Paloma Stefani – specifies in the tribune that the expression have a miscarriage “guilt and invisibility”. Because the authors of the tribune insist: it is not a voluntary act.

The collective then called for the setting up of a national multimedia information campaign on the subject, as well as the establishment of a paid work stoppage of at least three days for women and their spouses, the possibility of reimbursed psychological follow-up and the integration of teaching on the subject in education courses sexuality.
