The Special Team against Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office and members of the High Complexity Crimes Investigation Division (Diviac) of the Police entered the Government Palace this afternoon. According to La República sources, the objective of the intervention is to arrest President Pedro Castillo’s sister-in-law, Yenifer Paredes.
Parallel to the search for the sister of the first lady, Lilia Paredes, the arrest of the mayor of AnguíaJosé Nenil Medina Guerrero, in the Center of Lima.
Paredes Navarro is being investigated by the special team of prosecutors led by Marita Barreto for the alleged crime of influence peddling. The beginning of the preliminary proceeding against the sister-in-law of the head of state was ordered after “Fourth Power” released a video where he is seen offering sanitation works to residents of San Miguel. In the material, he wears a vest from the company JJM Espino Engineering & Construction SAC, whose legal representative is Hugo Espino.
Precisely, Espino Lucana was also arrested this Tuesday by the Special Team against the Corruption of Power.
