O WhatsApp finally released today at iOS the resource Companion modepresent in the version for Android devices of the messenger for almost a month and which allows registering more than one device in the same account.
The new was noticed by the staff of the WABetaInfo in the latest version of messenger (23.10.76) on the App Store. Now, when downloading WhatsApp on another device, the user may notice an option to link it to an existing account instead of entering his number to carry out the transfer.
As you can see in the image below, after selecting this option, the user is invited to scan a QR code with their main device through the messenger’s settings menu, just as if they were connecting their app to WhatsApp Web or Desktop, for example. example.
According to WhatsApp, it is possible to connect up to four devices to the same account, always maintaining end-to-end encryption. It is not yet possible, however, to post statuses from a secondary smartphone nor manage broadcast lists, but this is likely to be fixed in the future.
