This book is a children’s novel written by an American children’s literature writer. The little protagonist in the book is called Mary. Mary was introverted and withdrawn. She lost her parents in a cholera epidemic in India and was later sent to live in the Scottish manor of her uncle Craven in England. However, due to the death of her aunt, her uncle Craven’s character became cold and withdrawn, and Mary could not feel the warmth at her uncle’s house. By chance, Mary broke into the long-closed garden of the manor and found the long-buried key to the garden in the flower bed. After that, she, Dickon, the wilderness boy, and Colin, the frail young master, found the secret to happiness in the garden. After reading “The Secret Garden”, I understood the preciousness of friendship. The lively and lovely Dickon used his sincere heart to impress Mary, who was worried about everything, and Colin, who was seriously ill and had no hope for life, and cheered him up again.
