20,000+ outages in Quebec: several sectors were affected

It was a rather hectic Sunday in the province. Eastern Quebec was at the heart of a weather bomb, at the same time as part of southern Quebec was deprived of electricity.

Gusts of 40 to 50 km/h blew over the Montreal area with maximums recorded at 72 km/h. In Montérégie, the most affected region, these gusts reached a maximum of 80 km / h.

At the height of the event, nearly 20,000 households were plunged into darkness on Sunday followingnoon. The Vallée-du-Richelieu is in particular the most affected sector.

The number of outages is slowly decreasing, and everything should be back to normal overnight.
