A citizen tells the story of his pancreas removal without his knowledge in a hospital in Arar • Al Marsad Newspaper

Al-Marsad Newspaper: Citizen Muhammad Al-Subaie narrated the details of his pancreas removal without his knowledge in a hospital in Arar.

He said during an interview with the “Gulf Rotana” channel: “My story dates back to 2016. I have diabetes, and the consequences of the disease led to my kidney failure. I traveled to one of the countries and underwent a kidney and pancreas transplant, and the operation succeeded. For 4 years, my health was good.”

He continued: I visited one of the northern cities in the Kingdom, and I felt sudden pain, and I went to a government hospital, and I underwent an appendectomy, and was surprised by the doctor telling me that it was the removal of the transplanted pancreas.

He indicated that he had obtained a report from the hospital, including that the appendix was removed without reference to the removal of the pancreas, adding that he went to Dammam and went to King Fahd Specialist Hospital, and it was found after the examination that he was suffering from bleeding in the intestine, which caused antibodies that fought the transplanted kidney and were removed. He had to return to dialysis, his health deteriorated, and blood did not reach his limbs due to diabetes.

He explained that removing the pancreas and causing an intestinal wound is what led to the deterioration of his health. What prompted him to file a lawsuit against the Ministry of Health against the hospital in which the pancreas was removed, and he was referred to the legal authority, and they obtained the opinion of the hospital, which stated that there was no medical error.

He concluded: I went to the Board of Grievances, and they said it is not our specialty, I do not know, how fair I am, and my health is not good, and no one gave me right or wrong.
