A delay granted to the 30,000 Belgians who received their tax declaration late due to problems at bpost

Due to “unforeseen circumstances at bpost”, the sending of several thousand tax declarations in paper format was delayed in June. The taxpayers concerned were not required to return the declaration on June 30, but obtained an automatic deadline of one month after receipt of the letter.

“The date on which these people received their tax return is registered with us,” said Mr. Adyns. “Add to that 20,000 people who, for one reason or another, did not receive a paper declaration.”

Citizens who used tax-on-web last year, activated the eBox or made the declaration via an agent did not receive a paper version this year.

The deadline for filing your online tax return expired on July 15. For those submitting the declaration via an accountant or tax advisor, the deadline is September 30.
