Al-Marsad Newspaper: Al-Qunfudhah City Health Ministry stated that a medical team managed to extract a car key stuck in the respiratory system of a forty-year-old patient, in a 15-minute operation via laparoscope.
And she reported that the 49-year-old patient arrived at the emergency department suffering from a blockage in the airway, and it became clear after the clinical examination and x-rays that there was a car key stuck in the trachea.
She indicated that the patient told the treating doctors that he had swallowed the key while he was playing with it, which caused him to partially suffocate.
She added: Surgical intervention was performed through the endoscope and the key was extracted, and then the case was followed up through the inpatient department until his condition stabilized.
