American actress Cameron Diaz returns to the world of acting, following eight years of retirement, to star in a new movie called Back in Action alongside Jamie Foxx, produced by the Netflix platform.
Jamie Foxx announced the news on social media, and published a phone call between him and Diaz, and according to the “Netflix” platform, Fox contributed to Diaz’s retraction of the decision to retire.
The actress quit acting in 2014, her last movie being Annie, to pursue other opportunities such as writing books and launching her own organic wine brand Avaline.
Diaz officially announced her retirement from acting in 2018, explaining her decision in an interview with Kevin Hart, saying, “When you’re doing something at a really high level for a long period of time, when you’re the one who’s doing well, you have to pass the opportunity to other people.”
