Apple’siPhone 15 series was not without its problems. For the first time in years, the company’s latest high-end smartphones appear to have significant issues at launch, with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max being criticized for their lack of durabilityand their their propensity to overheat. It looks like Apple is addressing at least one of these issues.

As David Phelan reports, Apple has apparently acknowledged the issue and released a statement on the matter:

“We have identified a few conditions that may cause iPhone to run hotter than expected. The device may seem warmer during the first few days after setting up or restoring the device due to increased background activity. We also found a bug in iOS 17 that affects some users and will be fixed in a software update. Another issue is some recent third-party app updates that cause the app to overload system. We are working with these application developers on fixes which are currently being deployed.”
