Apple Prices 512GB RAM Mac Studio Upgrade at $15,500

Apple has officially priced its maximum memory configuration for the Mac Studio at $15,500 above the base configuration of that processor, 9to5Mac reported. The upgrade brings 512GB of unified memory to the high-end desktop system, pushing the total cost of a fully maxed-out build to nearly $30,000.

512GB Memory Available Only on M5 Ultra

When Apple initially previewed the M5 Max and M5 Ultra configurations for the Mac Studio line back in August, the company noted that the 512GB RAM tier would launch in October. The online configurator now reflects that timeline.

Apple restricts the 512GB unified memory option exclusively to the top-tier M5 Ultra processor configuration. That specific silicon features a 36-core central processing unit and an 80-core graphics processing unit.

Buyers cannot select the 512GB memory ceiling on base M5 Max chips or lesser M5 Ultra variants. Selecting the 512GB memory tier adds a $15,500 premium over the base configuration of that processor, which starts with 96GB of unified memory.

Maximum Storage Increases System Cost

Stacking the maximum hardware specifications on the Mac Studio results in substantial invoice totals. A build pairing the top-tier M5 Ultra processor with 512GB of unified memory and a baseline 1TB solid-state drive costs $22,299.

Enterprise users and creative professionals requiring massive onboard storage pools can scale the internal capacity further. Configuring the machine with the maximum 16TB storage option drives the final purchase price up to $29,799.

Current orders placed through the Apple website for the 512GB configuration carry an estimated delivery window stretching from late November to early December.
