April program at the Cinema Paradiso Baden

Film highlights and live events with concerts and a reading

St. Polten (OTS/NLK) In April, the directors will be coming to the Cinema Paradiso Baden twice for film talks: Evelyne Faye on April 11 for her documentary “Let me fly” about the everyday life and dreams of people with Down syndrome, and Katharina Mückstein on April 13 April on her documentary Feminism WTF, in which she questions why the fight for gender justice, while successful, is still necessary. In between, on April 12, Cinema Opera invites you to Frederick Ashton’s ballet Cinderella with music by Sergei Prokofiev in a Royal Ballet new production of Charles Perrault’s Cinderella story.

On Monday afternoons, coffee, cake and the films “When will it finally be like it never was” (April 17) and “Greece” (April 24) will be served in the “Film-Café”. On April 26, “Film, Wein + Genuss” combines “The purest pleasure” with regional delicacies from Möllersdorf and wines from Gumpodskirchen. This month, the “Babykino” is presenting “Stars under the City” (April 25) for film lovers with small children with free admission, this month’s “desired cinema film” is called “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” with Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet, Elijah Wood, Kirsten Dunst et al (April 30).

Other film highlights in addition to “Greece” with Thomas Stipsits, Erwin Steinhauer, Mona Seefried and others and the Australian comedy “The purest pleasure” are “Im Taxi mit Madeleine” with Line Renaud and Dany Boon, Andreas Schmied’s comedy “Head over heels” with Otto Jaus etc., Darren Aronofsky’s “The Whale” with Brendan Fraser in the leading role, Frauke Finsterwalder’s “Sisi und Ich” with Sandra Hüller and Susanne Wolff, “Air” with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jason Bateman and Viola Davis as well as “Der Super Mario Bros. Movie”.

The concert events start on April 20th with a double concert between indie, folk and pop by Oskar Haag and Sophia Blenda. On April 27, Diknu Schneeberger and the Christian Bakanic Quartet merge gypsy swing, tango, folk music and Balkan sounds. Before the film “Sisi und Ich” begins on April 16, Gudrun Velisek will read poems from Empress Elisabeth’s diary, the actress will be accompanied by Johann Turek on the piano.
