On Monday, two individuals were deprived of their liberty in Herstal following a snatching. Indeed, two boys snatched the jewelry of a lady born in 1957 in the street, before fleeing. Later in the day, video surveillance images and the description of the suspects led to their arrest. A police patrol recognized the two suspects.
The two men are suspected of having committed two such thefts, one on July 6 and another on July 17. In addition, for the first theft, one of the two boys had stolen his mother’s car, a Dacia, in order to facilitate the operation.

The two suspects who were deprived of their liberty on Monday were born in 2004 and 1998 respectively. The first was known to the courts for acts relating to the theft of several electric bicycles. A file was already under investigation concerning these facts. The involvement of the second suspect in the two snatch robberies is still being analyzed.
