Barcelona enters Sunday’s El Clásico at Camp Nou as the dominant force in La Liga, sitting atop the table with 27 points from nine victories and 39 domestic goals. The match carries heavy domestic stakes for the visitors. Real Madrid arrives in third place with 21 points, leaving them six points behind their rivals and needing to avoid defeat to keep their title ambitions alive, according to Depor.
Flick Pushes Attack While Madrid Misses Courtois
Manager Hansi Flick has pushed Barcelona to 50 goals across 12 matches in all competitions this season, relying on an aggressive high defensive line that creates intense attacking sequences. Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has made structural adjustments since returning to the Santiago Bernabéu, though Los Blancos managed eight goals in their previous two outings.
Madrid must approach the Camp Nou fixture without goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Courtois was removed from the squad due to the flu, forcing Lunin into the starting lineup. Projected lineups feature Joan García for Barcelona alongside Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, while Madrid lines up with Mbappé, Bellingham, and Güler.

Yamal Faces Madrid in High-Risk Tactical Battle
Barcelona’s high-risk defensive approach leaves space in behind, presenting Real Madrid with clear counterattacking opportunities through pace. However, the visitors face questions regarding their 90-minute structural cohesion.
Attention centers on 19-year-old Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal. Entering the fixture a day before potential recognition at the Ballon d’Or ceremony, Yamal holds the chance to dictate the tempo of the match against Madrid’s backline.
