Bold protest at Putin’s family grave: “Parents of a madman, take him home!” politics

Autumn 2022. More than six months ago, Vladimir Putin (70) started his bloody war of aggression against Ukraine. Thousands have already died a senseless death because of the Kremlin despot’s fantasies of omnipotence.

It’s enough for a woman. On the afternoon of October 6, Irina Tsybaneva (60) goes to the Serafimovsky Cemetery in Saint Petersburg. The Russian heads to the grave of Putin’s parents Maria (1911 to 1998) and Vladimir (1911 to 1999) and sets a sign, reports “Der Spiegel”.

That’s on the protest note against Putin

According to this, recordings from a video camera show how Tsybaneva puts down a small piece of paper near the gravestone. It reads: “Parents of a lunatic, take him home! He caused so much pain and suffering that the whole world is begging for his death. Death for Putin. You raised a freak and a killer.”

A day later, on October 7th, the warmonger celebrates his 70th birthday. On the morning of October 10, 2022, there is a knock on the courageous woman’s door – police! The officials temporarily arrest Irina Tsybaneva, after her release she is not allowed to leave her house.

The trial of the protester begins in December. The charge is defamation of a burial site. This carries a penalty of up to five years in prison. Tsybaneva said in court: “I was afraid for my relatives. And that nuclear war could break out. I have grandchildren. It was a cry from the heart. A spontaneous, thoughtless act. I can’t explain it any other way.”

Putin could make an example of Irina

The public prosecutor’s office, which has long since been brought into line, evaluates the note as a “negative assessment of Russian President Vladimir Putin”. Because of the “immoral act,” Irina Tsybaneva is no longer allowed to use the Internet, and the Serafimovsky cemetery is also taboo for her. “Der Spiegel” spoke to the accused’s son. Maksim Tsybanev is convinced that the court will make an example of his mother. The verdict is expected in April.

The courageous action is not the first protest at Putin’s parents’ grave. Most recently, unknown activists had placed a page from a Russian school book there. Read what it said here.
