Between February and July 2026, regulatory enforcement targeting irresponsible advertising of Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) home testing kits and prostate supplements across Meta and Google platforms revealed severely poor initial compliance among supplement vendors, alongside a notable rise in test kit adherence, according to data published in a CAP Enforcement Report.
The regulatory review tracked 2.73 thousand unique advertisements captured via an AI-based Active Ad Monitoring system. Out of this total, 2.58 thousand ads were flagged for containing potentially non-compliant claims. For prostate supplements, the primary violation involved marketing materials falsely claiming to prevent, treat, or cure prostate-related health issues. For PSA home testing kits, the issue centered on ads misleadingly implying that the tests could diagnose cancer without making their limitations clear.

- Digital Enforcement: Automated ad monitoring on major tech platforms has successfully reduced the raw volume of active supplement promotions from peak levels.
Platform Monitoring and Regulatory Intervention Metrics
During the six-month observation window ending in mid-2026, the volume of prostate supplement advertisements dropped significantly following direct compliance interventions. Contacted advertisers reduced their output from a peak of 835 active ads in April down to 180 ads by July. Despite this contraction in sheer numbers, compliance rates for supplement ads remained exceptionally low, registering at 0.5 percent in February and ticking up marginally to 0.6 percent by July.
The enforcement strategy involved distinct approaches for supplement vendors versus diagnostic kit providers. For prostate supplements, the Compliance team contacted 23 distinct advertisers and instructed them to amend or remove non-compliant promotional material. Eight of those vendors formally agreed to alter their campaigns, while the remaining 15 failed to respond to regulatory outreach yet quietly removed their offending advertisements anyway.
Conversely, the compliance trajectory for PSA home testing kits demonstrated a marked improvement. The adherence rate among test kit advertisers surged from 20.0 percent in February up to 64.5 percent in July. The Compliance team contacted eight test kit advertisers, and all eight agreed to amend or remove the flagged promotional content.
