President Gustavo Petro is in arrears with a fine imposed on him by the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) when he was mayor of Bogotá. To pay it, the SIC garnished his salary as a senator in 2018, but a recent appeal by his lawyers managed to send the case to the Accusation Commission, where it is not clear what can happen with the garnishment and the penalty fee.
