Delek Israel Launches Fuel Giveaway for 75th Anniversary

Israeli motorists have a chance to win free fuel for half a year as part of a promotional campaign launched by the Delek fuel station network. The sweepstakes will award 30 drivers fuel cards valued at nearly 5,000 shekels each, offering a substantial break on transportation costs as everyday expenses continue to squeeze household budgets across the country.

The giveaway is tied to the 75th anniversary of Delek Israel, according to Israel Hayom. Organizers will select one winner daily from Oct. 8 through Nov. 6. Each winner receives a fuel card loaded with 600 liters of 95-octane gasoline, designed to be used over a six-month period. Under the rules of the giveaway, recipients can draw roughly 100 liters per month.

Accounting for the maximum self-service gasoline price in October—pegged at 8.27 shekels per liter—the total value of each prize reaches 4,962 shekels. The promotion arrives as fuel prices and the broader cost of living weigh heavily on drivers throughout Israel.

Requirements for Entry and Contest Rules

To qualify for the daily drawings, motorists must meet two specific criteria. First, participants must be members of the Joe Delek loyalty club. Second, they must complete an eligible purchase at a station: either pumping a minimum of 30 liters of fuel or buying convenience store merchandise worth at least 39 shekels.

Every transaction that satisfies these conditions grants an entry for that specific day’s drawing. With 30 different winners selected over the course of the month-long campaign, each victor secures the right to refuel up to the monthly threshold without charge for half a year.

Company Background and Anniversary Marketing

Delek Israel Deputy CEO Keren Cupermintz noted that the company chose this form of promotion because rising living expenses and transportation costs are acutely felt by Israeli households, making a practical everyday gift the most meaningful approach for customers.

The anniversary campaign also looks back at the company’s history. Promotional materials feature recreated fuel stations from various decades dating back to the 1950s, complete with period-appropriate vehicles and costumes. One promotional episode highlights military reservists stopping at a station on their way to the front lines during the Yom Kippur War.

The rollout of the anniversary sweepstakes follows reports that AI has begun to impact employment for Israelis.
