Heavy rain in northeast China caused a bridge collapse and a car crash. Dashcam footage of another car is widely circulating on social media. The accident happened in Heilongjiang on Thursday. While overtaking the car, the SUV fell into a large crater where the bridge collapsed.

Seeing the accident, the car driver can be seen backing away. Footage of others who came with vehicles trying to save the accident driver has also emerged. In the video, a man is trying to escape from the half-submerged car by holding on to a rope, and the strong flow of water can be seen in the video.

It is reported that 14 people have died in Shulan City so far due to rain and flood. Archyde.com also reports that Cyclone Doxuri caused the flood in Shulan. Beijing and Hebei province are experiencing heavy rain and flooding. More than 20 deaths were also reported from Jilin province. Northeast China’s major rivers and their tributaries are overflowing. Meteorologists say Doxuri is the strongest typhoon to hit China in 140 years.
