Al-Salami told the poet, he said: I entered upon (Ad Al-Dawla), and I praised him, and he gave me the best of giving, and in his hands Husam Kharwani saw me seeing him, and he threw it at me and said: Take it, and I said: All the best that we have is from him. He wanted, so I came to my teacher and explained the situation to him, so he said: Woe to you! I made a great mistake, because this word of Abu Nuwas describes a dog when he says:
I saved a dog from his family from this / Their grandfathers were happy with his grandfather
And every good thing they have is from him
He said: I came back wearing a heavy garment and stood in front of him, so he said: What is wrong with you? I said: I had a strong fever, so he asked me: Do you know the reason for your protection?! I said to him: I looked in the Diwan of (Abu Nawas), so he smiled and said: You have no problem with the fever, and he prayed for him.
It was also narrated that Add al-Dawla sent the judge, Abu Bakr al-Baqlani, in a letter to the king of the Romans. So I avoided the idea for him to put his bed on which he was sitting behind a short door from which no one could enter without kneeling so that the judge could enter through it in that case.
When the judge reached the place, he remembered the advice of (Adud al-Dawla) and turned his back, and entered through the door while walking behind him. Except for very high doors.
And (Al-Hamdani) mentioned in his history that the news of a people of the Kurds crossing the road and living in difficult mountains, he could not reach them, so he summoned one of the merchants and gave him a mule with two boxes of sweets that had been stained with poison, and more sweet, and gave him dinars, and ordered to walk with the caravan.
So the merchant did that and walked in front of the caravan, so the people got down and took the luggage and money, and one of them was alone with the mule and took it with their group to the mountain. Famine, so they turned and perished from the last of them, so the merchant hastened to take their money, their luggage and their weapons, and they took back what was taken from the end, and they returned to Udd Al-Dawla to give him good news of what happened.
He said: Praise be to God, this plot erased the traces of the evil-doers, and harvested the thorns of the corrupters.
