Dolidol officially launches a new subsidiary specializing in recycled plastic

This new extension requires an investment of 200 million dirhams, of which 100 million dirhams signed within the framework of the project bank investment agreement supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The new factory was set up in the DOLIDOL industrial complex in Dar Bouazza over an area of 10,000 m², and has enabled the creation at this stage of more than 100 direct jobs and 1,000 indirect jobs.

“This project marks an important milestone in our journey towards sustainability and decarbonization of the textile sector. It bears witness to our commitment to promoting the circular industry and to ensuring sustainable production that meets the environmental standards in force”, declared the Minister on this occasion.

And to add that through this investment with high technological and industrial added value, DOLICEN contributes to the structuring of the plastic bottle recycling sector and the substitution of imports by local production.

For his part, Jaafar Harti, Managing Director of DOLIDOL underlined “We are aiming for no less than 12,000 tonnes of finished products per year, and this will involve the recycling of more than 600 million PET bottles per year. This makes us proud on several counts, first on the ecological level and the impact of this activity on the environmental component. On the economic and social level since Dolicen contributes to the creation of jobs in the PET waste collection ecosystem as well as to the reduction of imports and the generation of foreign currency. Our objectives are clear: to cover 100% of the internal needs of the Dolidol group instead of imported polyester, which will represent 25% of DOLICEN’s total production, the rest being sold on the national and international market”.
