It is known that there was another party with Prime Minister Johnson in December 2020. Now a new photo appears that is supposed to show the head of government at this celebration – including a champagne bottle. So far, Johnson had said he thought it was a work meeting.

The event on December 15, 2020 – apparently a partially virtual Christmas quiz – was already known in principle. At that time, strict distance rules applied, members of foreign households were not allowed to meet in closed rooms. The police are investigating twelve events, but so far not in this case.
In parliament, Johnson rejected accusations of opposition. When asked, he said that the event had already been made known to the police. The Labour politician Fabian Hamilton scoffed that it was “one of the Christmas parties that (the Prime Minister) told us never took place”.
While Johnson has apologized for pictures of parties, he has not acknowledged any celebrations. He thought they were work meetings. The Prime Minister is under considerable pressure over the “Partygate” affair. There is also a lot of criticism within the party, with several MPs calling for his resignation.
On Wednesday, businessman John Armitage, who has donated a total of three million pounds to the Tories, joined the ranks. Political leaders should abdicate when they have lost their moral authority, Armitage said in a television interview.
