End of cycle! Samsung stopped selling Galaxy A73 in Brazil

Browsing through the mobile pages of Oficina da Net, this morning, I came across the Galaxy A73 with no prices or offers. That caused me a surprise, I went to research more about it and ended up not finding offers in retail in general, they even had some, probably a remnant of stock. When that happens, what I do is run to the manufacturer’s website and search for the product there. It was then that I came across a message on Samsung’s own website saying that the cell phone is unavailable. This unavailability has been going on for a few weeks now.

Galaxy A73 out of line

What happened to the Galaxy A73?

The device, which was launched on March 17, 2022, for the price of R$ 3,799.00, is no longer available for purchase in the Brazilian market. The Galaxy A73 5G presented itself as an attractive intermediate option for consumers, with interesting specifications and a powerful camera, it was responsible for carrying the best configurations of the A line. However, Samsung took the decision to withdraw the product from the Brazilian market, making it unavailable for sale.

The cell phone has more than a year of existence, with the speed that smartphones are being launched, this period is even considered normal. However, it was considered a good smartphone for several reasons. The lack of demand for it must have been the main reason for Samsung to decide to take the Galaxy A73 out of line.

Is it normal for a 1 year old cell phone to go out of line?

Yes. Smartphones are being discontinued with an average lifespan of 1 year, with exceptions such as top-of-the-line cell phones or even the infamous S20 FE that will never go away. Smartphones that have little demand and few sales tend to leave the market faster, either because of its successor arriving or even because the product no longer makes sense.
